Following the success of last year’s first Retailer Outstanding Service Awards at Highcross in Leicester, the centre is hosting the event again this year on Tuesday 27 September. More than 200 retailer staff attended the event last year as well as Highcross staff and sponsors and they are hoping for the same success this year.
The awards are designed to reward and recognise the outstanding customer service offered by Highcross retailers and restaurants. Measured through mystery shopping results and broken down into categories with an overall ‘Retailer of the Year’ crowned at the end of the night.

Visitor numbers at Aberdeen’s Union Square retail development have risen by more than a fifth, its bosses have said.
Union Square, which is home to shops, restaurants and a cinema, opened in October 2009.
General manager Ryan Mason said of the increase in visitor numbers “It highlights Union Square’s popularity even in the face of a very tough economic climate.”

Sponsored by Retail Profile, the Short Term Retailer of the Year Award seeks to find the retailer, who brings the most variety and verve to the shopping centre in which they retail with their activity either on an RMU or on a short-term letting basis.
The Cupcake Department faced tough competition with other retailers offering a range of products and services including fish pedicures, eyebrow threading, artwork and sculptures and photography.

Amery Capital achieves 3.5 times multiple on capital invested with successful sale of Retail Profile Holdings Limited.
Amery Capital is delighted to share the news that Retail Profile Holdings (RPH) has combined with SpaceandPeople plc.*
Retail Profile is the leading operator of Retail Merchandising Units (RMUs) to premium UK shopping centres and has a growing international business.
Retail Profile was acquired by an Amery Capital SPV in April 2007 with the backing of Michael and Maurice Bennett. During this time, the business has successfully been transitioned from its entrepreneurial roots to a professional stage under the leadership of Managing Director, Martin Kemp, and Finance Director, Andy Thomson. Julia Langkraehr, the original founder of the company, has continued to play an invaluable role in business development, particularly in Russia, Europe and the United States.
SpaceandPeople is a successful, experiential marketing, location and media sales group, listed on AIM, with a principal focus on shopping centres in the UK and Germany.
The senior teams of both businesses have worked closely together over the past three months and believe that the combination of their strengths in retail solutions, exceptional service and a visible presence in shopping centres, will reap huge benefits and will enable the joint business to grow both in the UK and in new international markets.
Maurice Helfgott, Founder Director of Amery Capital Limited and Chairman of Retail Profile Holdings Limited, will join the Board of SpaceandPeople, as will Martin Kemp, Managing Director of RPH. Julia Langkraehr and Andy Thomson will continue to have important executive roles in the company.
The Amery Capital and RPH management investors will together have a 29.99% share in the combined business and are very enthusiastic about its prospects.
The consideration to be paid by SpaceandPeople is £6.3m, made up of £2.7m cash and loan notes, and the balance in shares placed at 62p.
The realisation to Amery Capital investors represents a very successful multiple of 3.5 times equity invested just three years ago.
